Inside the New DodoForm Dashboard: From Form List to Command Center
We rebuilt the DodoForm dashboard around the Capture → Structure → Understand → Act pipeline. Here's a tour of the new Overview page, pipeline navigation, and the three ingestion modes.
Why we redesigned the dashboard
The old dashboard opened on a flat list of forms. That made DodoForm read like a "smart form builder" and buried the thing that actually creates value — your structured data and the insights on top of it.
DodoForm is one pipeline: Capture → Structure → Understand → Act. The new dashboard expresses that pipeline directly, so the moment you log in you see the state of your data, not just a list of forms to manage.
The Overview page: your command center
The new landing page at /dashboard is a bento-grid command center, scoped to your current workspace. It's built from a few key pieces:
Pipeline hero
A dark hero strip across the top shows all four stages — Capture, Structure, Understand, Act — each with a live count rolled up across every schema in your workspace. One glance tells you how much is coming in, how much is structured, and how much is ready to act on.
Ask your data
A natural-language input sits above the fold. Type a question in plain English — "Which leads have budgets over $500K and want to close this quarter?" — and get an answer without navigating into analytics first. (Available on plans with full analytics.)
Needs-attention queue
Instead of opening each schema to find work, one cross-schema queue aggregates what needs you: pending review items, hot leads, failed connector syncs, and low-confidence extractions. Click a category to jump straight to it. When everything's handled, you get an all-clear state.
Insight rollups
Themes, sentiment, and lead-score insights are aggregated across your whole workspace, so patterns surface without inspecting individual schemas.
Activity feed
A reverse-chronological feed of recent submissions across every schema and mode, each tagged with a colored mode badge so you can see at a glance where the data came from.
Quick actions
Three one-click starts for the most common tasks: New form, Run extraction, and Connect ATS/CRM. Actions your plan doesn't include yet show an upgrade indicator instead of failing silently.
One core entity, three modes
Under the hood, everything is a Schema — the shape of the data you want. Each schema can take in data three ways, and we gave each mode its own color so it's recognizable everywhere in the product:
When a brand-new workspace has no schemas yet, the empty state doesn't say "No forms yet." It shows three mode cards explaining the Capture-to-Act pipeline, so you understand the choices instead of staring at a blank list.
Navigation that mirrors the pipeline
The sidebar is now grouped by pipeline stage:
There's a dedicated Overview item at the top, and your existing per-schema detail and analytics pages work exactly as before — nothing you bookmarked broke.
Analytics that adapt to your data
Not every schema is the same, so the analytics surface adapts to a schema's purpose: feedback schemas lead with sentiment and themes, support schemas lead with triage insights, and leads schemas lead with lead scoring. You see the insights that match the data you actually collect.
Built on the same guarantees
Everything stays scoped to your workspace via Postgres row-level security, and plan gating is respected throughout — gated features show an upgrade prompt rather than disappearing. The teal brand palette carries through, with the dark command-center treatment reserved for the pipeline hero.
The takeaway
The dashboard used to answer "what forms do I have?" Now it answers "what's the state of my pipeline, and what should I do next?" That's the whole point of DodoForm v2 — and the dashboard is where it comes together.
People also ask
Did my existing forms and links change?
No. Your schemas, per-form detail pages, and analytics links all work as before. The schema list simply moved to its own page under Capture.
What are the three modes?
Form (collect from others), Extractor (structure your own files), and API (send data programmatically). They all feed the same schema and produce the same structured records.
Is the new dashboard available on the Free plan?
Yes. The Overview command center is available to every workspace; individual gated insights show an upgrade prompt based on your plan.
